Adam started out by playing the cornet at the age of seven in the Kettering Citadel YP band before moving to Euphonium in 2005. During this time he had the privilege of being taught by the current MD of Virtuosi GUS John Berryman and former Trombone player Brad Turnball of the International Staff Band of the Salvation Army.
Adam has attended many Salvation Army music schools over the last five years, highlights including being Principal Euphonium of the East Midlands music school three years running and then more recently a Principal Baritone at the Territorial Music School held in London.
Over the past few years Adam has been lucky enough to be able to play with as many as nine different brass bands on parts spanning the entire length of the Euphonium Baritone bench. More recently Adam took the decision to focus more on becoming a Baritone specialist which has culminated in him becoming Solo Baritone here at Granite City.
Currently Adam is studying for a Bsc in Geology at Aberdeen University, with other interests as wide ranging as hill walking to rugby.Adam currently plans to continue with his degree, with hopes to complete a masters afterwards, and continue playing with Granite City
